Challenges
Through heat, mud, wind, rain, noise, and the sheer mass of people, we had to patrol the festival site in pairs of two offering help to spectators looking to find a specific stage and keeping a watchful eye on potential problems.
My Approach
Since the layout for each festival was different, at the start of each event and before the fans were allowed to enter, I walked around the site to familiarize myself with the surroundings. I made sure to carry the festival map on me at all times.
Outcomes
Fans came for the music and enjoyed themselves no matter the weather. There were no massive issues, but when you get hundreds of thousands of people together with alcohol outdoors in the Montreal summer, sometimes things can get a little out of hand. Thankfully, the client experience team patrolling the site were there to ensure people has fun.
Best Moment
When my shift was over I was allowed to stay and watch the performances. The last night of Osheaga I got to see Kendrick Lamar.
